June 2019 - Bill and Anita Get Married, MORE Swim and Parties

June was a very special month in our family this year. My older brother married Dr. Anita Ticak and we could not be more blessed! Anita came into our family only a few years ago but has fit right in! She has a beautiful daughter named Mila that is 4 and fits right in the crazy group of cousins. I am so glad I was able to join in their special day. It was a beautiful event and I could not be happier that my brother found this amazing woman that makes him so happy.

Cousins!

I thought them giving the girls rings was so sweet!

June is a very busy swim month. These two kids of mine have really been swimming awesome. Riley is swimming the Back, Freestyle and the Freestyle relay and the Medley relay. Carter is swimming Freestyle and Backstroke - but really is not a fan of the backstroke. During this time of year the kids are practicing every day for an hour and have meets every Saturday. You would think they would get sick of it but they absolutely love it. Its a time for them to do what they love and enjoy lots of fun time on the pool deck with great friends.

Carter on the blocks ready to swim!

The Relay Team - What.a bunch of amazing girls

Summer Champs is an invitational swim meet that both the kids qualified for this year. They both did awesome and came home with some new hardware!

This was Riley's best Fly and the time that qualified her for the Ponderosa swim meet - which it the best of the best invitational - consider it the World Series of Swimming. You will see she started swimming the wrong stroke and corrected it just in enough time not to get disqualified

Trinity is one of the competitive end of summer swim season invitationals. Swimmers must qualify in each event to compete in this meet. There are a lot of swimmers and it is a very fun event. Both Riley and Carter qualified for Trinity and medaled! I was so proud of both of them. Here are some pictures and videos from Trinity

The swim coaches this year were awesome and the night before they came to our house and left posters for the kids

This was Riley's relay team - amazing swim to win the race - this relay team was so much fun to watch!

Johnny and Rachel and the kids came to visit us and we had such a great time. Its always awesome to see the cousins play as they continue to get older. Even though we live far away - they pick up right where they left off! The Smiles say it all!

The final swimming weekend was Ponderosa! This is where the fastest swimmers from all around come to compete. I was so proud of Riley that she made it this far. What an accomplishment! Riley is competing with kids that swim year round and she holds her own! I am so proud of her... she is a pleasure to watch in the water!

Pep talk before the swim - love this coach

Friends make the best teammates!

You would think she would be nervous - not Riley... she looks for us in the stands and waves

Our sweet neighbor held a Donut go going away party for Riley. It was super sweet and she had a blast! We have been blessed with the group of friends Riley has and we are really going to miss them!  Hopefully they can keep in touch!

The swim season ended with a banquet. This was our first year on the Mills Branch Marlins and we absolutely loved this team. The coaches were fantastic, the board members were amazing and the kids made some awesome friends. When we come back - we will for sure swim again on the Marlins!
