July 2019- The Final Month Before the move

July was a crazy month. We were so busy with all the final preparations for our big move to Russia. We had so many things to purchase it was completely overwhelming. Moving to Russia we get to live in a furnished house but since the temperature is so different we had so much to buy. Clothes, kitchen stuff, boots, jackets, snow toys, etc.. Since we know the winters will be pretty harsh we bought a number of things to occupy the family when we are indoors. The food we hear is different too so we packed some staple consumables like coffee, peanut butter, jelly and a lot of US medicines and toiletries. Overall it was a lot of work but we managed to get through it all. Once the house was packed and the movers finally left - the stress was off and we were able to finally enjoy our last week saying goodbye to all our amazing family and friends. Carter and Riley had their first sleepovers with our neighbors Jackson and Reagan which they really enjoyed. We are lucky to have so many amazing Texas friends!

We will miss everyone so much - including our sweet dog Luca. We are excited for the adventures ahead! What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!

This is one of the hardest things we have done as family and as individuals. Leaving the life, family and comfort we have always known in the USA and moving to Russia is wild and crazy. We are hopeful that this experience makes us grow closer as a family and grow as individuals. We know there will be hard times and will miss our loved ones like crazy but our hope is we explore a new culture and have many amazing adventures! This is a temporary change - we will be back!!
