December 2018 - The Greatest showman Birthday party. Christmas parties, family time and more!

December is a whirlwind every year in this house. We have annual traditions like Santas Wonderland in College Station that are a must... and it just seems that every weekend in December there is something. The girls have a Christmas recital that is always a ton of fun. Riley has her birthday party so there is no rest for us this month! This is my favorite time of year but I am always glad when its over!

As usual during this time of year I get family pictures taken - I was pleased with how they came out this year. Photos taken by Krystal Schneider Photography

We were able to attend some other Christmas PJ parties with friends. The kids got their fill of the festivities of the season. It was busy but a ton of fun!

Riley in the middle of a snowball fight at my friend Fleur's party. She dumped this ice chest on a boy that was throwing snowballs at her.

This year we started a new Harrison/Renton Tradition - a National Lampoons family/friend Christmas party. Kristen and Jeff hosted at their house this year. This was a ton of fun! We had everyone come in PJ's and had a delicious brunch. The kids decorated cookies, did Christmas crafts and even got a visit by Santa! It was a lot of fun and something we will certainly do again!

Kristen and I took Riley and Maggie to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. The girls had a blast and really enjoyed the show!

Christmas for us this year was a trip to New Orleans to to see my extended family. We had a great trip and were able to come home to Santas gifts for the kids

The kids got tickets to the WWE Elimination Chamber - they are big wrestling fans like their daddy

Days of the week panties - Rileys favorite

Riley got Tenny  - a new American girl doll from Granny and Paw Paw - she is super excited!

The kids got new bikes... the rain didn't stop them from testing them out

It's an annual tradition for us to make the trip to College Station during the holidays to hit up Santas Wonderland for a true Texas Christmas. We have been going for 5 years - and Mags joined us when she was 1. We head up on a Sunday and spend the day looking at lights - meeting Santa and enjoying the holiday festivities. Each year it gets better - this year they added snow sledding! The kids as always had a blast.

In school Carter made an advent wreath. He was so proud of this wreath and wanted us to light the candles and pray with it. The birthday candles did not last the entire season but he really enjoyed it .

During Christmas Riley and Maggies Dance Studio - Stacy's hosts a Christmas Recital at the studio. Its not as big as the spring recital but at least it lets the girls wear the costumes twice. The girls were precious and did a great job!

The 8th Birthday party of the Century! We live next door to a classmate of Rileys and their birthday's are November and December. Since the school is so small we decided this year to plan a Greatest Showman Themed circus double party for the girls and invite the entire class. It was a ton of planning but turned out to be really fun (except of course the weather did not cooperate and it was COLD!) We had a man with monkeys, a balloon artist and a carousel bounce house for entertainment for the kids. We had a popcorn bar, pizza and hot dogs and tons of cake and cookies. It was a ton of fun to plan and I think all the kids had an awesome time. There are boatloads of pictures but you can see the weather didn't stop us from having a great time.

Cant have a circus without a lion!
