November 2018 - Thanksgiving

November was a busy month with the usual kids stuff - and of course Thanksgiving. This year I had a work trip to Eastern Canada so my photography this month was not as much as usual. Justins brother also unfortunately passed away unexpectedly of a drug overdose.

In general the kids are doing well. Riley is getting the hang of second grade and is learning quickly that attention to detail is important. Her mistakes like not putting her name on papers or not checking her work for sill mistakes are coming home with some pretty low scores so its been a good learning opportunity. She is a bright kid but at times rushes thought her work so hopefully we will change that. She has finished soccer for the season and seemed to have another great season. Riley is one heck of a soccer player when her head is in the game - its just not always in the game! We are busy planning for her 8th birthday which I cannot believe! All in all things are going well for her and we are very proud of the little lady she is becoming

Carter of course is continuing to excel in school academically and we are starting to see some signs of boredom. We have been working closely with the school on assisting Carter with finding more challenging tasks and he has started a GT program with Ms Daigue (GT Teacher) and Ms Bloodworth (2nd grade teacher) that he has really started to enjoy. They have been working with him on things like STEM bins and coding which he thinks is awesome. He still has his behavior challenges but luckily his challenges are not aggression. He is a hands on kid and that is something that we need to work on. He needs to keep his hands to himself. He also struggles with normal 6 year old boy stuff like following directions, sitting in his chair correctly, etc.. While the road with Carter has been tough - I do think we are seeing improvements in him. We have been working with the school and have purchased wiggle seats for him and some friends to help them get some of the wiggles out. Things are better than they were before so hopefully as Carter grows and matures we will continue to see improvement. He still loves his Karate and is doing awesome at it!

The girls soccer season ended with a bang. They played the DASH the competitive soccer league in the last game and our girls played amazing. I am so proud of these beauties and how hard they work!

Riley caught strep in November and it was the sickest I have seen her. She stayed pretty much like this for 2 days straight

School pictures - where are my babies?

Riley did a soccer camp with professional soccer player Nichelle Prince from Canada - she had an awesome time and learned a lot!

While Justin was in Connecticut with his mother dealing with her new car and his brothers funeral - my neighbor Stacy and I were sitting on my porch one night drinking wine and we saw a snake slither into my house. When I saw him - he looked like the picture below - his head is in my home, under the trip and he is slithering up to my attic. We freaked and ran to get the ladder to try and pull him out (this is 12 ft up) but we didn't make it in time - he was gone. I freaked out and went in the attic looking for him - but we couldn't find him. Needless to say shortly thereafter - we paid a lot of money to snake proof my house!
