April was another busy month with our normal school and work activities and the extra curricular activities the kids are involved in. The kids are doing great in school academically but behaviorally both have their ups and downs. I am blessed that I have two very smart children.. but they are both very head strong and stubborn so that presents us with a number of challenges!
Riley is doing well in Kindergarten. She really likes the changing classes and the new things she is learning. Her reading is progressing very well and she reads a lot of chapter books now. Her writing is getting much better and she is learning how to spell with monthly spelling words. She is playing soccer, taking jazz class and will start swim team again soon. I am very proud of her and the little lady she is growing up to be.. just could use a little less sass. :-)
Carter for sure has his ups and downs in school. He is so smart sometimes its scary. He is excellent at math and is extremely well spoken for his age. We are still working on his impulsiveness and his maturity. I think at times he is bored in his new school and that does not help with his behavior. We are working through it and hoping that this is something he will grow out of. He is taking soccer lessons and seems to really enjoy it. We have been working with him in the pool in the hopes that he can get strong enough to make the swim team this year. I figure if I have to take Riley to practice anyway - it will be great to have him swim too!
Here are some random pictures from the month.
Maggie tried a new soccer class in the neighborhood:

Mags high kick
While watching Maggie play soccer, Carter and Riley decided to play in an ant pile and Carter got attacked pretty bad. I am not really sure how they got all the way up to his neck but they bit his neck pretty bad. It was so bad we took him to the emergency room to get treated.
