Riley's dance recital and Father Daughter dance

This is Riley's second year in dance and I think she enjoyed it more this year than she did last year. The class she took this year is called combo 1 and she does tap and ballet. Her recital was a tap routine and she was so excited because I think that is her favorite. Her dance studio allowed dads to sign up to dance with their little girls on stage during the finale of the recital. Justin was reluctant at first but once he understood what was involved he really got into it. Justin and Riley had dance practices once a month and that was their special date. She had to wear a white dress and daddy had to dress in a suit. We searched high and low for the perfect white dress and finally found it. She loved the dress and it was so hard to keep it away from her until the recital! The day of the recital was a hectic day and of course it was beautiful outside until it was time to leave... then it poured like cats and dogs! We made it and all turned out well. Nanny, uncle Jeff, Maggie, and our friends Russel and Lindsay Carter came to Riley's recital to support her. She was so excited to see her family and friends in the crowd! Her first routine was the tap routine. She was so excited but as soon as I walked out of the back to grab my seat right before she was going on stage they told me she burst into tears because she said the costume was hurting her. I have no idea what that was about but they cheered her up quick because you cannot tell she was upset on stage. She did so well! The father daughter dance was at the end and it was so amazing. The room was full of tears and it really was a special moment. I am so glad her and her dad got to share that together! It was a great night!
