March 2015 - Parties, St Patty's day and Russia trip

I am late to summarize March because things in the Harrison world have been pretty intense the last month. Between Justin traveling to Russia for two weeks and my boss having to go out for emergency medical surgery life has been busy to say the least. The kids and I have kept busy with our usual hectic life, school, work, and of course all our social activities. Granny came and spent a week with us while Justin was gone to help me with the kids which was a HUGE help! The kids have been doing great. I am so blessed with two well behaved (most of the time) and very smart kids. Riley is doing great with her reading and writing. Her teacher continues to express her amazement with her progress. She is doing addition and subtraction with objects at school and seems to be understanding math very well. Hopefully she gets her dads math skills! She came home from school the other day telling me about how you tell time on a clock. She has the most hilarious personality and keeps us all on our toes and laughing. She is very bossy but has the biggest heart and takes excellent care of her brother and her little cousin Maggie. Before daddy left for Russia he took Riley to go see the new Cinderella movie and he let her wear her costume. She was so excited and loved the movie! Carter is still impressing us all with his language abilities. He is talking so well and is such a quick learner!  He is doing much better at school with not hitting and following the teachers directions. I am working with him at home on the appropriate reactions when he does not get his way but if this is the worst of his "terrible two's" then I will take it! He is still completely infatuated with his sister and looks up to her so much. They are the best of friends and it warms my heart to watch them play together so well. Carter is learning to count in his class and has been doing very well. He loves his baby cousin Maggie and loves spending time with her. He is doing fantastic with potty training at school but we are still struggling with it at hime. I know when he is ready he will get it. He really enjoys his new sports fun class and always asks to play ball at home. Hopefully he gets his moms athletic abilities! Here are some random photos from last month:

The kids are starting to struggle with daddy's business trips. They do not understand why he has to go for so long and they miss him a lot. Russia is especially tough since its hard to even to talk to dad due to the large time zone differences. This trip we had dad take the kids Olaf and send daily photos to my email for me to share with the kids. The kids loved seeing dads daily pictures and watching his adventures with Olaf. That made this trip go by much faster and helped give the kids something to look forward to. Justin was a little skeptical at first but was a trooper and did a great job at taking fun photos for them to enjoy. I think he got his feelings hurt when he did talk to them and they asked to talk to Olaf instead of talking to him. Here are a few of dads Olaf photos:

In Texas the bluebonnets are a big deal. They are basically weeds that sprout purple flowers and its just a Texas thing to take photos in the bluebonnets. So we jumped on the bandwagon and I took the kids to take some photos. It was a very sunny day but they were troopers and I think we got some pretty cute photos!

This is one of my favorite videos of Riley. She is so worried about her cousin Mags and even though Nanny is an amazing mother Riley thinks Maggie's fate rests on her shoulders.

We had an awesome Easter Sunday and got to spend some time with Nanny, Mags, Miss Susan, Granny and Paw Paw. The kids love all the company. I didn't get any group pictures but we mad a super cute bunny cake that I wanted to share. I think this will be a new tradition!

Finally here are the kids school photos from this year. I thought they came out cute. I am missing one of the two of them that I will upload when they send it to me but will share what I have for now.
