February was a good month for the Harrison Family. As usual we have kept busy with work, kids activities and household chores but we are all healthy and happy so life is good! There has been a lot of sickness going around the kids school and I have heard it all from strep, scarlet fever, pneumonia, flu, bronchitis, fifths disease and chicken pocks but luckily we have avoided it all. Other than a few runny noses and coughs we are doing great! The kids are still enjoying school and doing very well. Riley has been doing great with her behavior... knock on wood we have not gotten any bad reports in awhile. As usual her academics are excellent and her reading and writing gets better by the day. Her teacher is continuing to push her and I think that has kept her from having behavior problems. She gets her weekly contract and gets excited when she comes home on Thursdays and tells me that her contract is finished and on Fridays she gets to "choose freely" during academic time and pick the work she wants to do. She is my fashionista and loves to wear dresses and sparkly shoes to school. Sometimes our biggest fights of the day are what dress she wears to school or that the braid I put in her hair was not big enough. She is still taking dance and loves the ballet/tap combination. We just got our recital costume in and its so cute! Her and her daddy have been having dance dates monthly to practice for their daddy/daughter dance. I have a feeling that one will be a tear jerker! She still is also doing tumble team and still really enjoys that. She is my perfect blend of a tomboy and my princess. I could not be more proud of how amazing of a little girl she is growing into. She has a huge heart and a fearless spirit. I am so excited to see what the future has in store for her.
My little man is still growing like a weed and has officially entered the terrible two's. He is smart as he can be but knows what he wants and does not like when he does not get it. We are working with him on how to handle his emotions and that hitting or throwing things is not the way to get what you want. I put him in time out and trying to get him to stay in the corner is almost impossible. He does get his feelings hurt when he gets corrected so we will see how we survive this stage. Other than that I could not be happier with his development and how he is doing in school. He is doing amazing with potty training and is starting to tell us when he has to go potty instead of us having to put him on the potty every 30 min. He is doing great with his sounds, shapes and his counting. He is all boy and he loves sports, trucks, food and blocks. He is now in his sports fun class at school and loves telling me al the things he does in class. Carter is the most snuggly, lovable little mommas boy!
