January 2015

2015 has started with quite a few disappointments and heartbreaks. We are working through them and hope that this year starts to turn around for us all! January has been a pretty busy month for us. Its always hard getting back into our routine after all the vacation time during the holidays. We have officially planned our vacation for 2015 and we could not be more excited about it! Jeff, Kristen, Mom & Dad and my family are heading to the Bahamas on the Disney Wonder in November. We had a blast last time we went on a Disney cruise and are so excited we will get to experience it again with our family... and Maggie will turn 1 on the boat! Does life get any better?

Riley has been really doing well in school lately. Like any other 4 year old she has the occasional bad day but overall we are very pleased with how she has been doing.  She is getting better daily with her writing and we are still working with her on her spacing and the size of the letters. She is doing very well with her addition and subtraction and seems to enjoy math.. I am hoping she is like her daddy!  She is back in dance and doing a combination of both Ballet and Tap and she loves it! Her and her daddy have signed up to participate in the daddy daughter dance. They will be in the finale of the dance recital on May 30. They have practices monthly and its so cute to watch them go out on their daddy daughter dates. Riley is still doing tumble team at school with coach Nick and loves that class too. She is still an excellent big sister and helps her brother so much. They really are the best of friends.

Carter is growing like a weed and changing daily. We are still working on potty training and he has not worn a diaper at school in over 2 months! He has days with no accidents and then he has days with 1-2 accidents but overall he has done very well. He is not doing so well at home and its baffling to me why he goes to the potty at school but struggles to go at home. We are working on it and given he is still so little I am not too worried about him... I know he will come around when he is ready. We just taught him how to drive his red Mercedes power wheel car and he is loves it. It only took about three tries for him to get the steering concept and now he is driving all over the neighborhood.  He had his first trip to our family dentist Dr. Hudson last week and did fantastic! Carter is starting a sports fun class at school with Coach Nick next week. I am hoping this class will help him understand the basics of all the sports and see which ones he likes the best. So far Carter is all boy and loves anything with a ball so we will see.  He loves his teachers and all the friends he has at school. He is in a class of mostly girls so he has plenty of girlfriends! He is still working on his sounds and his counting but we are very pleased with his progress. He is still the sweetest and most lovable little guy and we are having so much fun with him.

I took an excellent photography class this month so I have been practicing everything I learned so you will see lots of pictures I have taken. I have two of the cutest subjects so its pretty easy to snap away!
