May family fun

So far May has been an awesome month! The weather has been great so we have been outside a lot. The kids love to be outside so they could not be happier. We have been riding bikes, playing on our swing set, and even started swimming last weekend. Both my kids are already sporting tans and we are still really early in the summer! Thank goodness they have their daddy's skin!

Riley has been loving her new bike! We ride bikes as a family every weekend and she is doing fantastic. We are working with her on stopping because I think she struggles a bit with the brake concept. She is also working a lot on her writing skills. She is doing great and can write her name pretty well. She is really loving puzzles lately and asks her daddy and I to do puzzles with her before bed. She is still obsessed with the movie and all things related to the movie Frozen. Overall Riley is doing fantastic and getting smarter by the day!

Carter is growing like a weed and talking so well! Within the past month he has picked up a bunch of new words! He says, mama, daddy, ball, apple, turtle, hi, bye bye, love you, thank you, more, night night, and many more. He is pointing and really trying to communicate... at this point even if he cannot say what he wants, between gestures and words he is able to get his point across. He has moved into the toddler room at his current school and is doing really well. They have him sleeping on a mat and he stays on his mat and sleeps better than he did in the crib! I would have never believed that he would stay on a mat but I am pleasantly surprised. He will be switching schools in the next month or two and he will be going to school with Riley. We could not be more excited for one school! We took Carter to the doctor this week for his 15 month doctor visit and all went very well. He is 31.2 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds 12 ounces. The doctor told us that he is talking at the level of an 18 month old so we were pleased with that. Overall we are very happy with our handsome healthy little boy!
