The Harrison Happenings..February- March

Its been about a month so we have a lot of catching up to do. In general things around here are as normal as can be expected with two working parents and two children under 4. I will start this post with  the latest on the kids...

Carter man.. my little peanut that melts my heart. He is growing at such a rapid pace! Carter is walking and nearly running at this point. He is a determined little fella and wants to do everything his older sister does. He is still as sweet as he can be. He is learning more and more words.. but of course Ma Ma! is his favorite! His tricks include arms up, how old are you? kiss (he will pucker up and give you a kiss) and he will wave bye bye. For the past month, Carter will not let you come near his mouth with baby food. He just woke up one day shortly after he turned one and said I will not have baby food. Its amazing to me how he knows what is baby food and what is not because I can spoon feed him things off my plate or his but if its baby food, he will swat it away and there is no feeding that to him. He is doing well on self feeding and his favorite foods are blueberries, turkey, and veggie pasta. He also enjoys grits, eggs and waffles. He has a healthy appetite and certainly does not miss a meal. He still has his happy, laid back personality. He has a specific cry that he will let out when Riley does something to him he does not like or he does not get his way... but it does not last long. He has the most beautiful thick head of brown hair and we have gotten him one haircut but its about time for another. His hair in the back curls and to me its so cute, I have a hard time parting ways with it. Cater is doing well at school and I am counting down the days until July when he will start the Montissory school with his sister. I love the school he is attending but it will be fantastic when drop off consists of one school vs two. Cater is down to one good nap a day 1-3 and sleeps from 7-6:30 nightly. He loves running around the house playing with balls and he plays with his toy golf clubs hitting golf balls around my living room. I am hoping he will enjoy sports as much as I did. Overall we are so blessed with our healthy happy little man.

Riley is our little princess. Its funny because each year it seems she gets so much smarter and parenting gets more complicated. Overall she is a great kid. She is super smart, a fantastic big sister and has the biggest heart. She is an animal lover and is always concerned about those around her. She is full of personality and will have a full blown conversation with anyone. The things that come out of her mouth never stop amazing Justin and I. She is still in dance and tumble team and seems to enjoy both very much. Her first dance recital will be in May so we are very excited about that. She is still obsessed with the Disney princesses. I took her out of school early one day and took her to see the new Disney move Frozen so now she is a big Elsa fan. She still loves playing dress up and loves her books. She is doing very well with reading and can pretty much read all her disney Step 1 books. She has at school been doing things for attention lately that are less than desirable... so we have been working on understanding the differences between positive and negative attention. Overall Riley is growing into an amazing little girl and Justin and I could not be prouder.

Here are some photos and videos:

Riley after completing her homework- she had to cut out the numbers 1-10, color them... and then glue them in the boxes in the appropriate order. She did it without a problem and currently likes her homework!
