Dance classes begin and end of summer fun

This week Riley started dance lessons at a local dance studio called Define Dance. They have a terrific two's and threes class that I thought would be perfect for her. Its a small studio that is family run and does not appear to be too uptight which was just what I thought Riley would enjoy. Last week we bought her dance gear which included some leotards, tights, shoes and a new dance bag. She loved all her stuff and did not stop asking when we could go dance. Well when Saturday came she was elated that she could finally put on her clothes and be a ballerina. She did great in the class, did not cry just went right in the class without mom and dad and started jumping around and following the teacher. Hopefully she will continue to enjoy it. Here are some ballet pictures:

Riley is a perfect mix of a tom boy and a girly girl. She loves dresses, nail polish and hair bows. She also loves bugs, big trucks and especially big trucks with smoke stacks. Knowing her love for bugs granny bought her a bug cage to catch the lizards and other rodents we find in the back yard. Riley caught her first baby lizard and was too excited! We had to get a picture. Its hard to see the lizard because its so small but she could not have been prouder!

I did it!

See my lizard?
Friday Riley's school was closed due to a teacher workshop to prepare for the new school year. We had a busy day planned. I know Riley is allergic to something outside but I am not sure what it is so I decided to take her to the Dr to get her allergy tested. THey are able to test them through a blood test. I was a little nervous because Riley has not had to get blood drawn or any shots since she is this aware of what is going on. When I got her into the Dr she sat on my lap and we had 2 nurses to help in case she started squirming or fighting. They pulled two tubes of blood from her and she did not budge! I was so proud of her. We came home and decided to do some finger painting while Carter was napping. Here are some photos of her having fun making a mess!

The kids are still smitten with each other. Riley loves Carter and wants to do everything for him. He loves her and smiles and laughs at everything that she does. She can be rough with him at times but for the most part she is pretty good with him. She does not like when I take his photo and do not include her in the picture. So that is why you see so many pictures of both of them :)

Carter is flipping over on his stomach all the time and getting ready to crawl. He pushes himself up and can turn himself around. Between scooting and rolling he can get where he wants to go. Its only a matter of time before we are chasing this little guy around. We still only have 2 teeth but I think the others are on their way. He is chatting up a storm and he says Ba Ba ba ba all the time... He is eating baby food three times a day and seems to be a good eater. I have not come across anything he does not like yet. He still loves his jumper and spends a lot of time bouncing all over the place. He is still sleeping about 12 hours at night which makes me very happy! Naps are getting better too so I cannot complain. His hair pretty much stands up all the time and that gets him lots of attention when we are out. Overall things here are going well and we are in count down mode for the Disney cruise at the end of September!
Love that face!
