We have graduated our weight checks and Carter Smiles!
We have gone to the doctor every week since Carter has been born for weekly weight checks. This week we graduated! On March 11 he weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces and then this Monday, March 18 he weighted 10 pounds 1/2 ounce. He is in the 24.5% and the doctor is thrilled with his progress. I could not be happier! It seems we are over this hurdle for now! Obviously Carter is excited too because he started smiling this week! There is nothing more rewarding and heartwarming than to see the toothless smile of your baby!
We all have been enjoying the beautiful weather. Carter loves being outside so long walks are in our daily routine. Riley enjoys walks too and loves to collect sticks, acorns or anything she can find. I am so lucky to live in a neighborhood with great walking paths and views of the lakefront.
Carter has been an excellent sleeper at night but naps are not his strong suit. He naps as long as I hold him but he struggles to sleep when I put him down. While I love holding him I cannot long term have a baby that can only sleep when I am holding him. I hate sleep training but its time for us to start with Carter. I know we are going to get through this like we did with Riley. I am hoping he is not as stubborn as she was!

Last weekend we had the kids Easter pictures taken with a real bunny and baby chickens. Justin and I were nervous that we were not going to be able to get any good photos with both of them but we were pleasantly surprised. I had prepped Riley three days in advance telling her on Sunday we are going to go and take pictures and play with baby chickens... I think that helped because she would not stop talking about it. The photographer we used was fantastic with both kids so that also made a huge difference. I don't have the pictures yet but here is one I took with my phone.

Other than that things are crazy around here but we are loving every minute of it!
