First 2 weeks as a family of 4

So I am almost at the 2 week mark as a mother of 2. Life as a family of 4 is truly amazing! I am loving every minute of my new family. Prior to Carters arrival I was so nervous about how things were going to go, how I would handle two, would I ever sleep, how would Riley react, etc... but to my pleasant surprise everything has just fallen right into place. Justin has been off work the past 2 weeks with me and Carter and we have been truly enjoying our time with our new baby. I will be very sad to send him off to work on Monday. Carter is doing fantastic. He is such an amazing baby. Not to compare my children but compared to Riley, he is a walk in the park. Nursing is going well although he is a very sleepy baby and I have a hard time keeping him awake. We are headed to the Dr today for his 2 week check up. I am praying that he has gained his weight back and is at least back to his birth weight. He got down to 7 pounds 9 ounces and the pediatrician said no more weight loss so lets hope my man has packed on a pound or two. He is fantastic at night... which truly is a godsend! He sleeps for 4-5 hour stretches at night which really helps me get some rest. During the day he is pretty laid back and just hangs around and naps. I truly am blessed!

Riley is still loving her brother. All her classmates parents tell us she tells them all about her brother. When she comes home from school she runs into the house looking for him and follows me around when I am changing his diaper or feeding him. When I go to the bedroom to change his diaper she runs to the living room to grab her "stool" (its really a seat for her easel) and drags it to my room so she can stand on it and look onto the changing table as I change his diaper. It is so cute! She wants to be completely involved in all that she can with him. When he cries she looks upset and says "Carter Crying". She is constantly wanting to hold him too so we are trying to manage keeping her involved and limiting Carter from being hurt. Overall she is far exceeding our expectations as a big sister. She is still doing amazing in school. She speaks so well theses days and can truly carry on a conversation with you. Her grammar is not fantastic but she can get her point across in pretty much any situation. Potty training has had its setbacks since Carter arrived but that was to be expected. Yesterday she came home and had an accident free day so I am hoping that we are back on track.

Here are some photos we took recently of the kids. Hopefully in the next week I will get my photos from our professional newborn photo shoot!
