Riley is almost 21 months and boy does she change daily. We are at a great age and exploring everything! I know every parent thinks their kid is brilliant but I must say mine is pretty bright. She is doing great with her colors and has all her flash cards mastered. She talks a ton and is starting to put together phrases like "open it", "don't touch", "Good Girl Riley", etc.. "No" has entered her vocabulary and at times can be her favorite word. We are aggressively working on it and hoping this is just a phase. In her classroom they do a lot of singing and Riley loves music. When in the car she just sits in her seat and sings to herself. It is so cute... she will sing twinkle twinkle, or a song they sing at school that starts, "where is (insert friends name here)... , her ABC's or Itsy bitsy spider, to name a few. Justin and I just laugh ... we love her little voice. She gets very serious too which makes it even cutier. In her class she has 17 kids and its a morning ritual that when we drop her off she points to each child's cubby and names them all for us. They cubbies have the kids pictures on it and she knows everyone's name. Her teacher may tell all parents this but does say Riley is very advanced for her age. The teacher is fluent in spanish and teaching her how to say moon in spanish. The teacher will ask Riley in spanish, "Where is the moon" and Riley smiles and says in the sky! Riley knows "Luna" is the word for moon in spanish. Below is a video from last weekend where she is pointing and talking about the moon. We have not gotten any biting reports lately so I am hopeful that was a temporary phase that is over. She is starting to push the limits at home so we have implemented time out and that seems to be working. I think putting her in time out hurts her feelings more than anything. She cries and cries but when she calms down she will say that she is sorry. We are still working on potty training but that is not going all that well. She is not too interested but we are doing our best. I think this one will take some time.
Other than that things are busy as usual between work and school and Riley's robust social calendar. Riley has swim every weekend and we have a lot of friends so we are enjoying a lot of birthday parties!
Below are some of our latest photos... hope you enjoy!
Riley Moon and Sky Video
Today at school was the grandparents day breakfast and Justin and I went as stand in's so our little one would not be there alone. We had a blast and she even served us breakfast. She made us a cute homemade card too.

I finally took Riley to get some professional photos. We have not done any since she was 1! I was so much better at this before I went back to work! My intention was to take them at 18 months but we are 2 months behind! Thanks to Grandma for the precious Hawaii dress and Aunt Donna for the Saints Cheerleading outfit! Riley was very good for this photo shoot and we thought we got tons of photos. If any of the family want copies let us know and we will be happy to send you some!
