Finally Talking!

Since the ear tubes, things with Riley have been wonderful! Riley has had no ear infections or fevers and has been learning a new word what seems like every day! I really think her lack of hearing caused her to wait so long to talk, but she is totally catching up! The other day I picked her up from daycare and she pointed at another little girl in her class and she said "Aubrey!" I was so shocked! I asked the teacher if that was the girls name and it was! Since then she says a bunch of things... Please, thank you, momma, daddy, ball, cracker, apple, nanna (banana), up, car, shoes, socks... It makes Justin and I so happy to see the progress she has made in such a short period of time. We went to the ENT this week and she took another hearing test and passed with flying colors. Justin and I are now firm believers in the ear tubes!

Riley has transitioned into a new classroom at school this week. We have had a rough past few days as Riley is very attached to her teachers in the old room and is not taking very quickly to the new teachers. It took awhile when she transitioned last time but I hate dropping her off and seeing her get upset. I know she will get through it. We are visiting a few new school in the next few weeks, just to check out our options. Not sure I am ready to pull Riley from her current school but I do want to visit a few others just to compare.

Aunt Donna and Uncle Ace came to visit us this week and we had a blast with them. Riley loved both of them! Uncle Ace and Riley swam for awhile together, I am sorry I did not get photos! Riley is swimming so well these days! She has moved up from the baby fins class to angel fins (level 2) and she is doing great! We are now kicking our legs! I am so proud of my little girl!
