September 2017 - post flood crazy times

Following Hurricane Harvey things were insane for our family. We did not have a home so we were blessed to be able to stay with Jeff, Kristen and Maggie. Our work was amazing in giving us time off to handle personal affairs. It took a full week for Justin and I to get all of our affairs in order. We hit some additional closing complications with the new house so our closing date was pushed back a week. It was a tough time for us as a family but like always we made it through with the amazing support of our family and friends. We were able to finally close on our house September 7! We had a lot more new things than we initially planned but overall we were safe and healthy and thats all that matters!

Our apartment living room - all ruined

Our bedroom - new furniture is needed!

The new house! Its finally done!

Moving day - OCD daddy managing the list!

First morning in the new house - party in moms bed!

Mommy and kids needed a break - movie time in the new house!

The kids started the soccer season with a new soccer league here in Kingwood called Kingwood Alliance. This is Carters first year playing on a soccer team and he was excited. Given the storm the season was delayed in the start but Riley was placed on a team called the Cheetah's and Carter is on the Kings.
Riley and Carter - my soccer stars

At this age group they play goalie - and Riley had to play - she does not like being confined to the box - my girl likes to work the field but she has gotten much better through the season

Riley is loosing a lot of teeth these days and her most recent one she swallowed. She was very upset thinking the tooth fairy would forget about her so we wrote a letter in hopes that she would still get a visit. It all worked out for her!

The time we were living with Nanny and Uncle Jeff was crazy - close quarters, lots of people and tons of stress... but the kids were troopers and made the best of it. So proud of them and how they made it through.
Carter and mom shared a bed.... this is what I slept with - little sleep for mommy! He is lucky he is so cute!

Ready for bed - matching jimmies

My two kids are not so little anymore

After school fun with family!

Uncle Justin torture racking Mags

Why not play dress up? We are here to save the day mom!

My little superhero!

After school snacks!

Dress up time! Carter is a lucky man to get two princesses

We had to purchase a lot of things in a very short period of time. Justin and I do not like being unsettled and were in desperate need of getting our life back together. I think we hit a record at bed bath and beyond - 5 carts and an SUV full of stuff!

I am blessed to have great friends - when I need it most they take me to dinner to let me laugh and vent. Love these ladies and not sure where I would be without them!
