It was Riley's grandparents day... but Carter didn't want to be left out
Granny and Riley
This is how the kids watch LSU with Granny
Riley started her soccer league this month. Some of her school friends play on the Texas Heatwave and her good friend Reagan's dad Tony coaches the team so we decided to give it a try. She is on the yellow team and they are the Queen Bees. Riley has really gotten better at soccer this year. She is finally getting the hang of the game and I am seeing some aggressive playing which is new for her. She is scoring goals every game and really seems to be having a great time. We love going to the games and cheering for our sweet girl!

Our local Lowe's offers free activities once a month for the kids to build something. We went this month and we built wooden boats. They had so much fun using real hammers and nails and making their craft. This is something we will certainly do again!
Other than that we have just been getting adjusted to our new life of two kids in two different schools! We are starting to finally get in a routine.Justin has been dropping off Riley and I have been able to drop off Carter and that has been working very well. This week Justin had to start a new job, great opportunity for him but its on the other side of town so now mommy is on point for drop off and pick up for both kids.
Riley has adjusted to Kindergarten very well. We had our first parent/teacher conference and her teacher told us how impressed she is with Riley's reading and her academic levels. Riley is having a little bit of an adjustment with the rules of the new school as they are VERY different than the Montissory but she will get there. We are very happy at St Marthas so far! In addition to soccer, dance season has started back with the school year. Riley has moved to a new studio this year and is taking Jazz class at Stacey's dance studio in Kingwood. She loves her jazz class and is having a blast.
Carter has been been doing very well also. He still plays soccer on Monday nights and love his soccer lessons. As a boy with a bundle of energy its a great outlet for him to release his energy. Carter is working on his sight words and his writing skills. His writing is getting pretty good, its just a challenge to keep his attention to get him to do his writing work. Overall we could not be prouder of the sweet little man he is becoming.
We took the kids to Jurassic Quest in Houston. Carter is in a complete dinosaur phase so we knew he would love it. It was our luck that after waiting in line for 40 min and only getting inside the exhibit for 5 minutes the fire alarm goes off because the Papa Johns in the arena burned something and the place was filling with smoke. We waited around for a few hours and they didn't reopen so we did not get a chance to enjoy the exhibit. Hopefully they will come back but here are a few pictures I was able to get.
They were so EXCITED
Daddy was about as excited as the kids!
