Start of the 2015-2016 School year

School has officially started and I have one in Pre-K 4 and one in preschool! Where has all the time gone? My babies are growing up way too fast! This will be the likely the last August that they will start together at Atascocita Montissory School. Riley is in the Aspen Room with Miss April and Miss Gabby. Carter is in the Pine room with Miss Ana and Miss Brandy. Carter will be moving up to the primary classroom likely at the end of the year. Here are some first day of school photos I took of the kids:

We are very blessed as a family to have amazing friends. One of our friends has a daughter with severe special needs that is 6 years old. We got our kids together with her family and some other friends and I was nervous at how Riley would react and how many questions she would ask. I tried to talk to her about it prior to the event but I am not sure she totally digested it all. Well during the event she met my friends daughter with special needs but five other kids with a variety of special needs and although she was totally confused... it was a great learning opportunity for her.

Carter man has been growing like a weed but is still as loving as ever. He turned a corner with his potty training a month or two ago and is completely potty trained! I am so thrilled and proud of my little guy! He is all boy and loves to play with balls, mowers, and trucks. Last week he had his first trip to the emergency room. He was playing with a rope swing with his sister and turned his head when she was passing it to him and caught the plastic part right to the face. The emergency room doctor wanted to stitch it because it was in such an awkward location. He was such a tough boy and only cried when the doctor stuck the needle in his wound (I would have cried at that point too!). I was so proud of my little guy!

The cut on left side required one stitch

We had to wrap him up like a taco... and he didn't cry or get scared at all!

Tired little guy but holding strong!

The next day with his stitch and his sister... no hard feelings!

Riley has been continuing to do very well in school. Below is some of her recent accomplishments:
Her Contract... some of these things blow my mind... trinomial cube? Organs inside the body? she is only 4!

We have finally moved to hundred board box 2.... she is over 100 now!

Carters work is mostly art but still super cute!

Carter had a sick day last week so I stayed home with him to try and nurse him back to full health. As mom was trying to get a work email out prior to heading to the doctor... he decided that he needed to color himself and was very pleased with his work! I guess its better than coloring my walls!

Since school started back so did our Thursday evening dance class for Riley. She is doing a combination class that she gets to do some tap, jazz and ballet. She has Miss Taylor as a teacher again and she could not be happier. This is the first year she has started with Jazz and so far she is loving it!

Other than that we have just been keeping busy with our usual activities and lots of kids birthday parties!

That smile!

Why can't we bathe in the hose with our clothes on?
