Time Flies....

So we are almost to Carters 3rd month and wow, time is just flying by. Carter is getting so big and really is starting to develop his own personality. He LOVES to smile... and there is nothing more precious than that gummy grin! He is a strong little guy and is doing well lifting his head and rolling over. He is a good baby for the most part but we are still battling with naps. He is a stubborn little boy and last week I really pushed him to nap on his own and we got up to screaming crying for an hour and 30 min before I cracked. You would think he would go to sleep but so far that is not the case. During the day Carter will ONLY sleep in my arms, in the stroller or in the car seat in a moving car. I know it sounds crazy but its true. Every morning we walk so Carter can take at least one good nap. We do about 6 miles and it allows me to get some exercise, Carter to get a nap.... and Luca loves it too. I know this no nap phase is temporary so I am trying to not let it frustrate me... but at times it certak-cupsinly is challenging. Other than the naps.. he is eating well, sleeping great at night and smiles all the time. He is truly a blessing!

Riley is still her same entertaining self. She is still doing great in school. We had her parent teacher conference a few weeks ago and the teacher told us that she is advanced academically and that she is ready to move up to the three year old classroom. She expressed that she will not move her because Riley is not mature enough. I do not want her to move up... she is not yet even 2 and a half but I think Riley is starting to get bored in her room and this may lead to future trouble. Her friends are all a little older and starting to move up so it will be interesting to see how she does with all the change. She can count to 25 in english and 10 in spanish, knows the alphabet, and more impressively she can tell you what sound each letter in the alphabet makes.  She is very talkative and keeps us all entertained with the things that come out of her moth. She LOVES trucks and on the way to school likes to talk about all the trucks but her favorite is the dump truck. She will even ask me.... "mom where is the smoke stack on the dump truck?". I have no clue where she comes up with this stuff. I certainly do not teach her these things. She loves to sing and will since the same verse of songs over and over. She is the typical 2 year old and struggles at times with listening and following directions. We are working on it but overall she is a great kid.

Next weekend Granny and Paw Paw will head to Houston for Carters Baptism. I am sad we are not going to be able to have our extended friends and family celebrateCarters Baptism with us. I will post plenty of photos of his special day. Here are some of our recent photos:

I finally was able to video Carter rolling over
Carter broke out of every swaddle so he now sleeps in the magic sleep suit.. AKA his space suit. It is working :)
