February 2018 - The month of Carter

This month was my boy Carters month. Lots of good things for him. The month started with his 5th birthday! I cannot believe my baby is already 5! While I am glad to see him maturing and growing up - its crazy how fast this all happens. One thing is for sure is that I am ready to stop dealing with preschool but thats another story! We are so proud of all Carter has accomplished this year. He is a super smart and sweet kid that I know is going to accomplish great things!

Carter wanted his birthday party this year at Pump it Up - basically an party venue that is filled with all the inflatable bounce house type things. Last year because we changed schools he didn't have a party so I wanted him to have something special this year. He chose a ninja turtle theme and invited all of his friends. He had a great turnout and the party seemed like a lot of fun for all the kids!

They do love each other

For Carter Birthday he got a play shave set. He absolutely loves to shave in the shower, just like his daddy!

Karate at TKD has been such a blessing for Carter. It has taught him so much more than I had ever expected. It has also done wonders for his confidence. He works super hard at memorizing and finessing his forms and patterns and its so great to watch. This month he tested for his green belt. He had a punching combination, a kicking combination, a form and he had to break a board. He also achieved the best reader patch and the best helper patch.

He got the green belt! - beaming with pride

Won the best helper and best reader patch this test

This month was grandparents day at the kids school. I think it was rescheduled due to the hurricane. They were very lucky this year they got to have both granny and paw paw attend and spend the day with them. They were able to attend mass together and then enjoy snacks at the FLC. They also suckered the grandparents into the book fair with the kids to buy books!

Great picture of them all!

The kids had Valentines day parties with their classes and I was able to attend them both. When I went to Carters Pre-school class I told him how much fun it was and that I should come work in that classroom. He told me I was not smart enough to be a preschool teacher!

Carter even made us matching hats

Granny and Paw Paw got Carter a red Polo and its his favorite shirt - he wears it every Sunday to church - its his standard uniform!

This month was also Nanny's birthday - so we celebrated true Texas style with a family dinner at a local Mexican restaurant
