December is always a busy month for us with all the holiday activities. This year was especially busy with our vacation, I started a new job December 1, and we had the very unfortunate passing of Miss Susan Joly. We stuck to our traditions and were able to accomplish all our usual activities. Each year we decorate cookies with the kids and exchange gifts between the Harrison's and the Renton's. Maggie is at such a fun age this year was one of my favorites. The kids get along so well and truly enjoy each other's company.

Due to our cruise we were not able to make Riley's dance studios holiday performance. She will be wearing the same costume for the December show and the May show so luckily she will get to preform in her new outfit. Here are a few pictures from her dress rehearsal.
Santa's Wonderland is a tradition of our family and has been since the kids were little. We have been fortunate to share it with Jeff and Kristen since Maggie has been born and we have so much fun. Its a very cute little town in College Station Texas (about 2 hours from here) that they decorate with lights and do all sorts of fun Texas style Christmas activities. There are live bands, all types of delicious food, Santa, a petting zoo and much more. This year our friends from Chicago joined the family fun!
The kids loved this light up train that they had for them to ride. The train sang.. All aboard the cho Choo train and took them for a ride. It was a kid only train so they thought they were so cool.
Mags singing.. she sang non stop!
Even the little boy next to her was trying to make her stop but there was no stopping this diva!

This year we decided to celebrate Christmas at our house Christmas Eve and then drive to New Orleans to celebrate with our family. This allowed the kids to celebrate Santa at home and still enjoy the traditional Renton family festivities. The kids were very lucky this year and got lots of great gifts. They both got toy cell phones that were a big hit. Riley got her first American Girl Doll Samantha and Carter got star wars light sabers! Dress up clothes and avengers were also a popular item this year.
Thankful for a great Christmas and a beautiful family

Christmas day we went to Mass and headed to Aunt Dawn and Uncle Jason's for some quality family time with the Renton's. We ate great food, had lots of laughs and enjoyed each others company. I love this tradition and am so glad my kids get to experience it with all their new cousins.
