Weekend In NOLA and ear infections....UGH!

We made another Harrison Family trip to new orleans to celebrate Bill and Elizabeths baby shower. As Riley gets older the 5 hour drives get more and more interesting. At this point, she is always moving so 5 hours in a three point harness is like capital punishment. We decided that it would be best to drive through the night on Thursday night instead of leave Friday morning. It was a good idea but making a 5 hour drive after a 10 hour workday can be pretty challenging. Thank goodness Justin is such a trooper! Riley slept the entire drive so it was super easy. On the way home we left at 2 AM so we had a sleeping baby all but the last hour of the drive. While mom and dad were completely exhausted... it was well worth it!

Riley enjoyed spending time with all the family and surprisingly did not have stranger anxiety! I am hoping we are over that phase. She loved sitting on the recliner with her grandpa!

Monday when I picked Riley up from daycare I could see in her face that she was not feeling good. Tuesday I stayed home with her and she seemed to be feeling better so I brought her to daycare on wednesday only to get a call at 2:00 saying her fever was up to 102 and I needed to get her. I brought her to the Dr on Tuesday and she was diagnosed with an ear infection. We got our antibiotic and were on our way. Thursday Justin stayed home with her and again she seemed better. On friday she was back at daycare and all seemed well. On Saturday and Sunday she started back with the fever. She was in a great mood so we thought we could fight it off with Tylenol. Well on Monday it got up to 105 so we were back at the dr. Only to find out the antibiotics that we got last Wednesday were not working because we did not refrigerate them... NOBODY told us they needed to be refrigerated and it did not even say it on the bottle. I am so frustrated I can just scream! My poor baby girl is suffering for no reason. Luckily she is in good spirits! My mom is coming this week to spend some time with Riley and help us out so that we can get go to work. LAst week since we did not get to work much, we really need the help. I am very grateful that my mom is so close and willing to come and help us out! Hopefully this medicine will be our fix!
